Step-by-Step: Using a Nebulizer with a Mouthpiece

Choose a preferred language

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Twist the top of your medicine cup and remove it. Pour your specified amount of medicine into the chamber. Place the top back on your medicine cup and twist it closed. Attach the mouthpiece to your medicine cup. Attach the hose to the nebulizer. Attach the other end of the hose to the bottom of your medicine cup. Turn the nebulizer on. Place the mouthpiece between your lips, and begin breathing in and out. Remove the mouthpiece from between your lips. If your nebulizer used a steroid, rinse your mouth with a sip of water and spit it out.
